17 dead from carbon monoxide poisoning in Algeria

According to Algerian State Radio, Nesim Bernavi, Press Officer of the Algerian Civil Defense Presidency, stated that 9 people from the same family were poisoned with carbon monoxide gas last night in the town of Busaadet in the city of Mesila.

Emphasizing that the family members in question could not be saved, Bernavi pointed out that 8 people in the cities of Setif and Mustaganım lost their lives from carbon monoxide gas poisoning.

Noting that the number of deaths from carbon monoxide gas reached 20 in the first 10 days of January, Bernavi said that 100 people who were poisoned in the same period managed to hang on to life with the interventions.

Bernavi added that the number of people who lost their lives to carbon monoxide gas last year was 103. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
