The Greek ruling party calls for the resignation of the main opposition MP
In a statement made by New Democracy, it was claimed that Eleftheriadu provided legal services to the National Social Security Institution (EFKA) during his time as a member of parliament and was paid 55 times for this.
In the statement, which is claimed to be the institution’s payment instructions to Eleftheriadu, “Will SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras ask for his resignation?” expression was used.

SYRIZA Chania MP Pavlos Polakis also claimed in his social media post last week that New Democracy Thessaloniki MP Anna Efthimiu provided legal services totaling 106,672 euros to the National Social Security Institution (EFKA).
Stating that this service is unconstitutional, Polakis called on Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis to expel Efthimiu from the party and announce the election date as soon as possible.
Defending that he does not have any commercial agreement with any public institution, Efthimiu affirmed that his service to EFKA covered the period prior to his election as deputy.
New Democracy MP Themis Himaras resigned from his parliamentary post on January 4, after it was revealed that the company in which he is a partner was doing business with the public and participating in public tenders.
According to Article 57 of the Greek Constitution, MPs are prohibited from being owners, partners or senior managers of companies that provide public services. (AA)
