Turkish politician in Sweden nominated as the only candidate for the leadership of the Center Party
After Center Party leader Annie Lööf announced that she would not be a candidate for Congress, MPs Muharrem Demirok, Daniel Backström and Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist were nominated.
In the communiqué of the Board of Directors of the Center Party, it was noted that Demirok was the only candidate in the congress that will be held on February 2.
In the statement, it was stated that Demirok has good communication skills and structure to lead the party. Demirok also said in his statement that it was a very important day for him.

Noting that his teammates Daniel Backström and Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist will also be his assistants, Demirok said: “I am very excited to appear in front of the party delegates in February.” saying.
Demirok, who has been involved in Center Party politics for 21 years, served as mayor responsible for Environment and Energy for 12 years in the city of Linköping.
Demirok, the son of a family of workers who came to Sweden from the Kulu district of Konya, was elected as an MP for the Center Party in the general election on September 11, 2022.
The Center Party is the fifth largest party in the country, represented by 24 seats in parliament.
