Britain’s Conservative Party has expelled a member of parliament for allegedly spreading misinformation about corona virus vaccinations. He also called the vaccination program “the greatest crime against humanity since the Holocaust”.
Andrew Bridgen regularly claims that corona vaccines would cause great harm to the population, a claim for which there is no evidence. He shares many posts on social media about the alleged dangers of vaccinations.
Simon Hart, a Conservative leader, says Bridgen has gone too far. Misinformation about vaccines is harmful and costs lives. We as a country should be proud of what we have achieved through the vaccination programme. Vaccines are the best protection we have against covid.
Parliamentary suspension
Bridgen has been a member of the House of Commons since 2010. He is currently serving a five-day parliamentary suspension for breaking lobbying rules. The politician allegedly contacted members of the government on behalf of a company that made donations to him, paid for a trip to Ghana and hired him as a consultant.
