Bus crash as massacre: 39 dead
The death toll in the bus accident in Senegal has risen to 39.
In a written government statement, the number of people who lost their lives as a result of the collision of two buses on Sunday near the city of Kaffrine, 250 kilometers from the capital Dakar, was said to have reached 39.
It was noted that the treatment of 53 people injured in the accident continued in the hospital and 42 people received outpatient treatment.
Following the accident, the death toll was announced at 38 and the number of injuries at 78.
President Macky Sall and Prime Minister Amadou Ba went to the scene yesterday and visited the injured.
Following the news of the accident, 3 days of national mourning were declared in the country, starting today.
Turkey also posted a message of condolences for those who lost their lives in the accident. (AA)
