Weisselberg, 75, has worked for the former US president’s family business since the 1980s. The chief financial officer admitted to receiving $1.76 million in unreported revenue and agreed to pay nearly $2 million in back taxes.

Trump not indicted

Trump himself has not been charged in the case, but The Trump Organization has. The company was found guilty of fraud in December because it defrauded the taxman for years with a criminal plan. Weisselberg could have been sentenced to fifteen years in prison had he not testified against the family business in court. The company’s penalty, likely a fine, will be announced on Friday.

The Trump Organization has hotels, golf courses and vacation homes around the world. Trump previously dismissed allegations as “witch hunts by radical left Democrats” and “judicial misconduct.”
