Russia and Belarus will step up joint military training, Reuters reports. The experience Russian troops have gained in Ukraine – with an emphasis on urbanized warfare – is being used as a benchmark for this, according to Belarusian state television.
The Belarusian defense ministry said on Thursday that Moscow and Minsk had stepped up joint military activities in Belarus with more weapons, military personnel and specialized materials, making it easier to practice together.
The announcement comes just as Belarus is suspected of serving as a springboard for a possible new Russian attack on Ukraine from the north. Belarus has allowed Russian troops to enter Ukraine from its territory since the beginning of the war.
The intensity increases
According to the Belarusian state channel VoenTV, Russian and Belarusian troops continue to exercise without interruption. The intensity of the workout is only increasing. “The goal is to be ready to strike back against any attacker.”
