Israel Bans Palestinian Flag
Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that he had instructed police to ban the display of the Palestinian flag in public.
“Today I have instructed the police to prohibit the flying of any Palestinian flag or any flag that identifies with a terrorist organization or incites against the State of Israel,” Minister Ben-Gvir tweeted. Right-wing extremist Ben-Gvir, who said: “We will fight terrorism and incitement to terrorism with all our might,” has banned the waving of Palestinian flags in public.
Ben-Gvir is said to have made such a decision after Palestinian prisoner Kerim Yunus, who spent 40 years in Israeli prisons, was released on January 5, when Palestinian flags were enthusiastically received at his Ara village in Haifa. (AA)
