The European Union has asked North Korea to end growing military tensions. The country must cease rocket attacks and drone flights outside North Korea’s borders that have been detained in recent times, says the European diplomatic service EEAS, in charge of EU foreign policy.
“North Korea’s continued violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and recent statements indicating its intention to continue such illegal actions are not good for the North Korean people. The EU urges North Korea to take credible steps towards full, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation,” the EEAS statement read.
North Korea has already launched at least 70 ballistic missiles this year, including an ICBM that the North Koreans say can reach the US mainland. The country continues with missile tests, despite warnings and sanctions from the international community.
