Vote at the UN that made Israel crazy! Netanyahu: Shameful decision…
Netanyahu’s statement on the decision was broadcast by the Prime Minister’s Office as a video recording.
“DOWNLOAD DECISION”
“The despicable decision taken today will not be binding on the Israeli government.” Netanyahu said that the Jewish people did not occupy the Palestinian lands and the “eternal capital” Jerusalem, and that the decision made at the UN will not change this historical fact.
Netanyahu argued that he had meetings with the leaders of some countries in recent days and that these countries subsequently refused to vote in favor of the UN resolution.
The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution asking the ICJ to “provide an advisory opinion” on the legal consequences of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories.
53 COUNTRIES abstained
In the vote in the General Assembly, 87 member countries voted in favor, 26 countries, including Israel and the US, voted against, and 53 countries abstained.
On November 11, 2022, the United Nations General Assembly’s Special Political and Decolonization Committee voted on a draft resolution calling on the International Court of Justice to issue an opinion on the legal consequences of denying Palestinians the right to self-determination as a result of Israel’s activities since the 1967 War.
Israel summoned the Ambassador of Ukraine in Tel Aviv to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for having voted “yes” to the bill presented by Palestine on November 11. (AA)
