‘Sex blackmail’ warning to UK MPs going abroad
Concerns that a “sex trap” could be set for MPs who went abroad for a business trip in England sparked controversy.
According to The Times, news broke that MPs affiliated with the cross-party parliamentary group APPG in England’s lower and upper house of Parliament, Houses of Commons and Lords, found sex workers in hotel rooms during their trip. to a “country ruled by a dictatorship” caused concern. While it was claimed that the proxies were aware of this situation when they entered their rooms, this situation raised concerns about the possibility of blackmailing the British proxies by some countries.
The issue has also caused criticism that the control mechanism is weak within the APPG, where members frequently travel abroad.
Separately, allegations came to light that a British lawyer made inappropriate offers to young interns on a trip to an “allied country”.
One source said: “An enemy country can use it for a purpose by getting pictures related to some inappropriate event.” Another source noted that one should be careful when traveling to countries that are authoritarian and at odds with the West.
‘LAWYERS WHO LOVE RUSSIAN WOMEN’
Earlier this month, the Politico website made allegations that some British MPs had overdosed on alcohol and exhibited inappropriate behavior while traveling abroad. In a study, it was revealed that some male MPs wanted to meet women from the countries they were going to, and some of them were often drunk and bothered local diplomats.
Claims that some British Labor Party MPs were particularly interested in “Russian women” and attended parties involving sex workers generated controversy. A conservative lawyer was also accused of being with a sex worker on his trip to China.
More than 130 APPG members of 700 people work in relations with certain countries, and all the expenses of their trips abroad are paid by the state. The deputies argue that these trips are very important for the development of diplomatic relations.
