Prelude to national elections
“Whatever Rishi Sunak does, he better do soon,” said Matthew Goodwin, a professor of politics at the University of Kent, in response to the poll. “Time is running out now and he and his crew are way behind.”
The figures are a new sign that Sunak is having a tough time. British politics is gearing up for the next general election, due to be held in 2024. Despite recent popularity figures, Labor appears to be on track to retaining a majority in the House of Commons.
