US: More military support for Ukraine is the way to negotiate with Russia
US Secretary of State Blinken held a press conference at the State Department on the agenda.
Noting that they have achieved success in four major foreign policy areas this year, Blinken said they have rallied the world against Russia to support Ukraine, rallied regional and global partners against China, built coalitions on issues like health, food security, energy and Affirmed that they are leading the way in the dissemination of the vaccine against the Covid-19 epidemic in the world.
Blinken claimed that the US rallied its partners and provided great help to Ukraine, reiterating that NATO had never been in such a strong unity before.
Stating that the United States will continue to provide military aid to Ukraine, Blinken said: “The Russian war machine is in a difficult situation in all respects. The diplomatic leadership of the United States has been indispensable in building and maintaining this unity of purpose and action.” he said.
Blinken stated that Russia is targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and that they are working with common allies, especially the G7, to renovate and repair kyiv’s energy infrastructure.
“WE WILL CONTINUE OUR SUPPORT TO UKRAINE”
Arguing that they see no intention from Russia to negotiate with Ukraine and come to the peace table, Blinken said:
“In our opinion, the best way to get there is to continue our support for Ukraine so that it can succeed on the battlefield and its energy infrastructure and economy can survive Russian attacks. This is likely to hasten the day that President Putin concludes that it is time to compromise and have a real negotiation.”
Arguing that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was the right decision, Blinken said: “If we were still in Afghanistan, I think that would further complicate the support that we can give Ukraine to resist and survive Russian aggression.” he said. (AA)
