Russia: We urge France to avoid the colonial approach
In a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was reported that Pierre Levy, the French ambassador in Moscow, was summoned to the ministry.
In the statement, it was noted that a protest note was delivered to the ambassador for the statements by the French Foreign Minister, Catherine Colonna, on the attack on the Russian House in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic, and the following statements:
“We stressed that the accusations against Russia of Russian special military units spreading propaganda and using violence against the civilian population are unacceptable. These explanations don’t sound right. We call on the French administration to avoid a colonial approach in its work in the region.”
On December 16, it was reported that a package sent to the Russian House, which functions as a cultural center in the Central African Republic, exploded. The explosion occurred when the director of the Russian House, Dmitriy Sıtıy, opened the package that was sent to the center by post. He was taken to the hospital with injuries.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and demanded that those responsible for organizing and carrying out the attack be identified and punished as a result of the investigation carried out by the authorities of the Central African Republic. (AA)
