Lithuania extends state of emergency until March 2023
According to the Lithuanian Ministry of Interior, the current state of emergency will end on December 16.
In a statement on the approval of the extension of the state of emergency, Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite said that these two countries, especially Russia, still pose a threat to Lithuania’s security.
Condemning Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, Bilotaite said: “Crimes against humanity are being committed there and attacks on energy infrastructure are intensifying. The long-standing insecure and unstable geopolitical situation continues to create conditions for the Russian and Belarusian authorities to carry out hybrid attacks and various provocations against Lithuania.” he used his statements.
Bilotaite also noted that a stricter visa regime will continue to apply to Russian and Belarusian citizens who can apply for a visa. (AA)
