Public execution for demonstrations in Iran
Mecid Rıza Rahneverd, who was sentenced to death on charges of “killing 2 militiamen (Besic) and injuring 4 people” in the city of Mashhad in connection with the demonstrations in Iran, was executed.
According to the Mizan news agency, affiliated with the Iranian judiciary, Rahneverd, accused of killing Hussein Zeynelzade and Danyal Rızzade, members of the Revolutionary Guard militia, Hüseyin Zeynelzade and Danyal Rızzade, with a knife and wounding 4 people, was executed during demonstrations in Mashhad.
It was noted that Rahneverd’s sentencing was carried out in a public place.
While 11 people have been sentenced to death in connection with the demonstrations in Iran that began after the death of Mahsa Amini after he was taken into police custody and continued for around 3 months, Muhsin Şikari, 23, was executed on 8 December .
As reactions to the death sentences for the protests mounted inside and outside the country, the United Nations (UN) condemned Shikari’s execution on December 9. (AA)
