Heavy snowfall in England paralyzed life
The heaviest snowfall in the country since 2013 has caused serious transport problems in the capital, London, with delays or partial cancellations of many tube lines.
8 HOURS ON THE ROAD
The M25 and M11 motorways in the capital also suffered heavy snowfall and some drivers were stuck on the roads for more than 8 hours.
All flights were suspended at Stansted airport, which had to close its runway in the capital due to adverse weather conditions.
More than 50 flights were canceled or delayed at Heathrow and Gatwick airports after snow, ice and fog gripped the country. Many passengers whose flights were delayed were stranded at airports.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
In Scotland the temperature dropped to -15 degrees last night. Schools were closed in some areas due to heavy snowfall.
On the other hand, three of the children who fell into the ice-covered lake in Solihull, near the city of Birmingham, died. Cold weather and snow are expected across the country throughout the week. (AA)
