US warning to Russia and Iran
Kirby assessed the latest developments in US foreign policy to White House reporters via Zoom and answered reporters’ questions.
Noting that Iran provides UAV support to Russia for use in Ukraine, Kirby said: “In return, Russia provides military and technical support to Iran at an unprecedented level. The two countries’ relations are developing into a full-fledged defense partnership. This situation poses a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to Iran’s neighbors in the region. We share this knowledge with our partners in the Middle East and around the world.” he said she.
“NUMBER ONE SUPPORT”
Noting that Iran is Russia’s “number one supporter” in military terms, Kirby stressed that Iran has supplied hundreds of UAVs to Ukraine since August.
“People are dying in Ukraine because of Iran’s actions.” Kirby said Iran will increase its support in the coming months and is considering selling hundreds of ballistic missiles to Russia.
SUPPORT TEHRAN
Kirby said: “We have also seen the news that Moscow and Tehran are considering setting up a joint production line to produce armed UAVs in Russia. We invite Iran to deviate from its path and not take these steps.” he said she.
Expressing that Russia is also seeking cooperation with Iran in areas such as weapons development, Kirby said: “We are concerned that Russia intends to provide advanced military materials to Iran. Moscow may be supporting Tehran with equipment like helicopters and air defense systems.” she used the phrase.
Kirby added that they will do everything possible to ensure security in the region and make sure that the two countries abandon these actions.
ANOTHER SANCTIONING DECISION
On the other hand, the White House announced that it has imposed sanctions on 3 Russian-based institutions that play a prominent role in the supply and use of Iranian UAVs used by Russia in the Ukraine war.
Noting that the Russian Aerospace Forces are among these institutions, Kirby said that this organization has a right in the Russia-Iran deal for the transfer of UAVs.
Kirby also stated that a Russian organization responsible for drone aviation was placed on the sanctions list for sending personnel to Iran for UAV training. (AA)
