British Prime Minister Sunak’s stern warning to unions that decided to go on strike

British Prime Minister Sunak’s stern warning to unions that decided to go on strike

British Prime Minister Sunak, in his speech in parliament, said: “Today, working families in this country face difficulties. The government acted reasonably. By accepting the wage review body’s recommendations, we achieve higher wage increases than the private sector in many cases.” he used his statements.

Alerting the workers who insisted on going on strike, Sunak said: “But if the union leaders continue to be unreasonable, then it is my duty to take action to protect the lives and livelihoods of the British people. Since I became Prime Minister, I have been working on strict new laws to protect people from such disruptions.” he performed the assessment of it.

UK Health Minister Steve Barclay, in his assessment of healthcare workers’ strike decisions in Parliament, said that if the government raises the current inflation rate for civil servants, there may be an additional cost of 28 billion pounds.

The British government had introduced a bill to parliament that requires those who work in the transport sector to provide a minimum level of service even on the days they decide to go on strike.

Experts believe that the UK government may in future extend this bill to cover other sectors as well.

Rail workers across the country are scheduled to go on collective strike from December 13-17 and January 3-7, 2023, and healthcare workers across the country, excluding Scotland, from December 15-20.

As the British economy contracted by 0.2 percent in the third quarter of this year, the Bank of England announced that the country had entered a recession.

In November this year, food prices in the country increased by 14.6 percent.

Inflation in the UK continued to rise, especially driven by energy and food prices, reaching its highest in 41 years at 11.1 percent a year in October. (AA)
