Israeli planes attack Gaza
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee, in his post on his Twitter account, claimed that Israeli warplanes attacked a weapons workshop, which is a major center where Hamas rockets are produced.
Noting that the planes also targeted a Hamas tunnel in southern Gaza, Adraee stated that the attack was carried out in response to rocket fire from Gaza into Israel last night.
Although there was no loss of life as a result of the attack, there was reported material damage to buildings.
In a statement from the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, it was noted that the Israeli planes attacked with surface-to-air missiles.
Hamas spokesman Hazim Qasim, on the other hand, told a local news channel that the resistance forces have shown that they will not allow Israel to change the equations and will continue to defend the Palestinian people by responding to the Israeli attack.
Noting that Israel has increased its attacks on the Palestinian people, Kasım said: “This Zionist terror and Nazi attitude will not be able to extinguish the fire of revolution burning in our people and we will continue to support our people.”
In an earlier statement by the Israeli army, it was claimed that a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel was detected, but no defense system was activated to avoid the rocket. (AA)
