Netanyahu: Prime Minister Lapid Incites Army Officers To Revolt Against Government
Netanyahu reacted to Lapid’s call for local Israeli authorities to use force to combat possible changes in the new government’s educational organization.
In a statement on his Twitter account, Netanyahu stated that he was chosen to lead the state of Israel and that he would fulfill this duty in accordance with national and democratic principles.
“We have a state, an army and a people. We must not harm them. Netanyahu noted that they never rebelled against the Israeli government even when they were in the opposition and therefore urged the opposition to act responsibly.
Condemning Lapid’s incitement of army officers and mayors against the elected government, Netanyahu said such behavior is dangerous and damages democracy.
Emphasizing that the army should stay out of political discussions, Netanyahu said: “It is out of the question for officers to rebel against the government that has earned the trust of the people. That means crossing the red line.” he used the phrases.
Lapid shared on his Facebook page today that he sent a message to local authorities in Israel yesterday with the title “protect the education system.”
In his message, Lapid said: “I share with you my concerns about the education system and the future of the state. The new government that is being formed in Israel has handed over the education of our children to the darkest and most radical elements of Israeli society.” he had used the phrase.
