Russia: The US prevents the eastern part of the Euphrates from falling under the control of the Syrian regime
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova made remarks on the Syria issue at a press conference in Moscow.
Responding to the question whether Russia is putting pressure on the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in Syria to leave the northern lands of this country, Zaharova recalled that Turkey made a statement that it plans to organize a ground operation in Syria.
Stating that they maintain intensive contacts with the Turkish and Syrian parties on this issue, Zaharova said: “We believe that such steps will worsen the not-so-simple situation in the region in question and negatively affect the situation in the region in general. We believe that the establishment of coordination between Ankara and Damascus will ensure strong security in the border region. Contacts continue to avoid large-scale tensions between the relevant institutions.” she said she.
“USA BLOCKED”
Stating that they are trying to establish a dialogue between the PKK/YPG and the Syrian regime so that the lands east of the Euphrates in Syria come under the control of the regime, Zaharova said: “The illegal presence of the United States here prevents this from happening.” . .” he said.
Noting that the US supports the PKK/YPG in northern Syria, Zaharova said: “The Americans follow a policy that such lands do not come under the control of Damascus. These lands have oil and rich natural resources.” she used her statements.
Zaharova said that the PKK/YPG alliance with the United States is neither constructive nor progressive. (AA)
