It was announced that 3 people were killed and 28 people injured in the suicide attack, which was claimed by the Pakistan-based Taliban extension TTP.
Police officer Abdul Hak, speaking to Britain’s Reuters news agency, said: “More than 30 people were injured in the attack on the police patrol, including 15 police officers. “A police officer, a woman and a child lost their lives,” he said.
It was also noted that the police were in the area to protect a group of health workers who were vaccinating against polio.
Located in a region close to the border between Afghanistan and Iran, Quetta is one of the most densely populated cities in the country.
