Al Jazeera: Turkey asked Russia to make a deal before ground operation

The TSK air operation against the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in northern Syria is on the agenda of international public opinion…

Turkey, which has signaled a ground operation, was claimed to have requested Russia to reach an agreement for the withdrawal of Syrian government forces from Tel Rifat.

According to Qatar-based Al Jazeera television news, based on Turkish officials, Russia, which agreed to Turkey’s request, is trying to persuade PKK/YPG militants to withdraw from the Tel Rifat region, as well as Syrian forces, to avoid a ground operation. Turkish officials told Al Jazeera that Russia is trying to meet Turkey’s demands regarding northern Syria as an alternative to a military operation.

It was noted that Turkey also wants the PKK/YPG militants to withdraw from Manbij, Kobane and Tel Rifat. According to the news, Ankara also stated that it is open to the idea of deploying Syrian soldiers to some border regions instead of the PKK/YPG.

‘GIVEN TIME TO RUSSIA’

Al Jazeera reported that Ankara has given Moscow time to meet its demands, otherwise it will launch a military operation.

The London-based Al-Araby al-Jadeed newspaper, on the other hand, wrote that as Turkey prepares for the ground operation, it is continuing its talks with Russia, which supports the Syrian government. The newspaper stated that the TAF operation will be carried out in stages and will cover Tel Rifat in the first stage, and then Kobane and Manbij.

It was also claimed on the news that if Russia persuaded, Syrian forces would withdraw from Tel Rifat and that Turkish-backed Syrian groups could settle in the region.

TERRORIST ORGANIZATION SEEKED HELP FROM RUSSIA

On November 13, after Syrian terrorist Ahlam Albashir launched a bomb attack on Taksim Istiklal Street, the heart of Istanbul, killing 6 people and injuring 81 others, Ankara launched an air operation in Syria and gave the signal for a ground operation.

Mazlum Abdi, the head of the Syrian Democratic Forces, whose backbone is made up of the US-backed PKK/PYD/YPG terror organizations, called on the US and Russia for help against Turkey. It was revealed that Abdi sat down with the Russian authorities last week and tried to persuade them to support.

Sources who spoke to Lebanon-based Al Mayadeen said the leader of the terror organization and Alexander Åžayko, the commander who led Russia’s operation in Syria, met in Hasakah. It was claimed on the news that the two names “discussed Turkey’s possible ground operation and the measures to be taken against it.”
