Protests continue in some Iranian cities and universities

In the images reflected on social networks, it was stated that the students of the Tehran University of Art were protesting the prohibition of the university administration to take the exam by shouting slogans.

In the footage, which is said to have been taken at the university, it is stated that all students who started the university this year, as well as graduate students from the drama department who started last year, were banned from entering the exams.

According to the statement by the Union of Islamic Organizations Students, nearly 100 faculty members at Emir Kebir University in Tehran wrote a letter to the university’s rector, reacting to the arrest of the students and their expulsion from the school.

Students protested at many universities in the country, especially at Urmiye Technology, Noşirevani Technology, Tehran and Sharif Technology universities.

On the other hand, although shots were heard in the images of the protest in Merivan, it was assured that many people were injured in the intervention of the security forces.

Protests continued in cities including Kermanshah, Shiraz and Isfahan, especially in Tehran, after all-day demonstrations intensified in Merivan, where shopkeepers closed their shutters.

While official authorities did not share clear information on the loss of life in the demonstrations, the Norway-based Iran Human Rights Institution (IHR) announced that the number of people who lost their lives as a result of the intervention of the forces security at the demonstrations that began after Emini’s death increased to 253.

It is stated that more than 30 police officers lost their lives in the events. (AA)
