Erdogan’s comment on the Greek name: he emphasized Cyprus
As the tension between Turkey and Greece continued, retired Admiral Vassilis Politis made some remarks and entered the agenda. Speaking to the Greek media, retired Admiral Politis assessed the tension between the two countries.
Politis said: “What is worrying is that even the opposition parties in Turkey say that they should put pressure on Erdogan against Greece.” The Greek name read: “They can take action not only against Greece, but also against southern Cyprus. Erdogan knows that he cannot attack Greece, which is a NATO member, but he can do something for southern Cyprus and that is much easier for him,” he said.
Stating that both countries have red lines, Politis said a solution must be reached through diplomatic means.
