The presidential statement said:
* “As two strategic partners and NATO allies, we express our satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between Turkey and the UK in many fields, especially in the defense industry.
* It was agreed that the two countries should evaluate new opportunities for cooperation. Highlighting Turkey’s role in NATO, the meeting emphasized that allies should act in harmony and solidarity against common security risks, new challenges and all terrorist threats.
* It was stated that Sweden and Finland must fulfill their commitments recorded in the Triple Memorandum, and that Turkey is closely following the steps taken in this regard. Concern was expressed about the deepening of the war between Russia and Ukraine and the cessation of negotiations for a ceasefire. It was emphasized that the prolongation of this war could seriously damage world peace and stability.
* The importance of any diplomatic effort to reduce the cost of war on the world economy, energy, food security and other areas was underlined. It was stated that for a solution based on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the way of diplomacy must be opened and negotiations must be revived.
* Although the responsibility assumed by Turkey in this process was pointed out, it was affirmed that it will resolutely continue with its attempts at a diplomatic solution, including the extension of the validity of the Istanbul Consensus.
