Fox News without Tucker Carlson is still dishonest and dangerous

letters to the editor

April 26, 2023

About the publisher: Tucker Carlson’s sudden resignation from Fox News makes one wonder if part of his $787.5 million deal with Dominion Voting Systems was aimed at ousting its most-watched host. Perhaps that was an easier pill to swallow when the network publicly admitted to lying about the 2020 election.

Despite the record-breaking defamation and nullification of the “ratings ratings,” Fox News will continue to foist untruths on its audience and cause irreparable damage to our entire political system.

Vicki Kipper, Los Angeles.

About the publisher: At its inception, Fox News described itself as a “fair and balanced” media company.

In 2016 she chose a new slogan: “Most Watched, Most Trusted”. After the 2020 election, Fox launched another slogan: “Stand up for what’s right.”

With such self-promotion completely discredited by the evidence revealed in the Dominion trial, what will Fox News come up with next? How about some truth in advertising: serving up disinformation.

Sandra Perez, Santa Maria

..

About the editor: With Judgment Day finally upon us for Carlson, how about also holding House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) accountable, who gave the ousted Fox News host exclusive access to sensitive surveillance footage of the U.S. Capitol riots? United States?

What happens to these recordings now?

Bede Sasis, Temple City..

About the editor: Carlson will be Donald Trump’s pick for Vice President in 2024. You heard it here first.

Ed Wolfman, Manhattan Beach.

About the editor: If, God forbid, the former White House resident is re-elected in 2024, can we expect Carlson to become White House press secretary?

Lord have mercy.

Sally Willis-Watkins, San Bernardino

..

About the editor: A scale on the desk of Fox Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch was supposed to have a bin for tokens representing advertising dollars aimed at his ridiculously gullible viewers. What goes in the opposite pan?

Ronald Webster, Long Beach
