About the publisher: It would be an understatement to say I am disappointed in Dominion Voting Systems’ $787.5 million settlement with Fox News in the defamation lawsuit.

This was our chance, probably our only chance, to finally bring this scam to justice at Fox News and force them to testify about the behavior for the world to see. With Dominion’s pre-trial appearances and vigorous campaigning, the public was led to believe that the creator of the voting machine would show us all that the truth is worth fighting for.

What did we get instead? The coward’s way out “give us money and we’ll run away.” Of course, Fox News will be competing to appear among the winners.

Another day loses the truth of cash.

..

About the publisher: By exposing disinformation, Fox News shrugged off an epic rights blowback that cost it nearly $800 million.

And why not if the core audience never seems inclined to prefer more credible news sources?

If the cable network’s ever-loyal audience doesn’t condemn fake shows, let’s hold the advertisers to account: publish a list of companies continuing to advertise on Fox News for anyone who prefers honest reporting to a serious boycott.

When Fox executives see the network’s revenue stream eroded by the loss of advertisers, they may be more inclined to ignore disinformation.

About the publisher: I wish the Fox News trial had continued and finally been picked up by the U.S. Supreme Court so the justices had a chance to review the 1964 decision in the New York Times Co.

While virtually every news organization in the country will breathe a sigh of relief that they can continue to publish stories with almost impunity, they may think that if they are forced to conduct a more thorough fact-check before reporting, public confidence in their product will increase.

Patrick Mattimore, San Francisco.

About the publisher: Bravo to columnist Jean Guerrero for Fox News doing significant damage to our society.

I wondered why Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert

Murdock Murdoch

hates our country so much that he allows his media to bombard Americans with outright lies. Dominion’s revelations show that it’s all just business and profit for Fox News, without considering the social implications of this blatant corruption of the term “free press.”

I am reminded of a quote often misattributed to Karl Marx: “Capitalism tends to destroy its two sources of wealth: nature and man.”
