Sex video scandal in football! Hwang Ui-jo was suspended from the national team

South Korean striker Hwang Ui-jo, who plays for Norwich City, one of the EFL Championship teams, was suspended from the South Korean national team after being accused of recording images of his ex-girlfriend during sexual relations without her consent.

The scandal emerged after Hwang Ui-jo’s very public breakup with actress and singer Hyomin of the famous K-Pop group T-ARA in March 2023.

In South Korea, videos of the footballer having sexual relations with an alleged ex-girlfriend were leaked, followed by accusations of infidelity and cheating:

“The leaked videos were taken after he made a deal with his ex-girlfriend. Hwang has been constantly blackmailed since May 7, 2023. “The blackmailer illegally leaked videos of Hwang and his ex-girlfriend, and although we cannot be sure it was the same person, there was indiscriminate dissemination of information and financial demands.”

HE WAS SUSPENDED FROM THE NATIONAL TEAM

The 31-year-old striker, who denied the allegations and claimed he recorded the videos with the woman’s consent, will not be selected for his country’s national team until the police investigation into the illegal recording of the sex tape is concluded.

The Korean Football Association (KFA) statement said: “We have decided not to select Hwang Ui-jo for the national team until a clear conclusion is reached about the facts.”

South Korea coach Jurgen Klinsmann said in a statement on the matter: “I fully understand the current situation and will respect the KFA’s decision. “There’s always speculation, but unless there’s something proven, I don’t believe it.” he said.

Hwang Ui-jo, who scored 16 goals in 60 appearances for South Korea, played for Seongnam, Gamba Osaka, Girondins, Nottingham Forest, Olympiacos, FC Seoul and Norwich City.
