Serbian tennis player Djokovic and Danish eighth seed Holger Rune faced each other in the Green Group Singles match held at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy.
Djokovic achieved his first victory in his group by winning the match 2-1 with scores of 7-6, 6-7 and 6-3. With this success, the experienced 36-year-old athlete broke for the eighth time the record of finishing first in the world rankings at the end of the year and at the same time extended his stay at the top to 440 weeks. Thus, he became the oldest male tennis player to remain at the top of the world rankings the longest.
