Ergin Ataman’s Panathinaikos adventure started badly
Ergin Ataman, owner of the title of Turkish coach who won the most trophies, had a bad start to his adventure in Greece.
Panathinaikos, the most active team in the summer transfer market in Europe, lost 3 of its first 4 games in the Euroleague.
Yoncalar, which lost 83-69 to Fenerbahçe Beko in Istanbul in the double-header week, lost to Maccabi 86-81 in overtime of its second game. Ataman was disqualified after the second technical foul due to his intense objections to the referee in the third period.
Pana, whose only EuroLeague victory came against Bayern Munich, was defeated twice by archrival Olympiacos (one EuroLeague, one Super Cup). The green and white team went 2 out of 2 in the Greek league.
“YOU DON’T RESPECT”
Panathinaikos coach Dimitris Giannakopoulos reacted again to the Euroleague with his publication on his Instagram account:
“You do not respect our 6 championships, our club, the Giannakopoulos family who has invested for 30 years, the best coach in Europe and, most importantly, our fans. “Do you expect us to respect you under these conditions?”
