The era of Luciano Spalletti in the Italian national team

Luciano Spalletti has been appointed coach of the Italian national soccer team, vacated by Roberto Mancini.

In the statement from the Italian Football Federation, it was indicated that the 64-year-old coach, whose agreement was reached, will start his duties from September 1.

Under Spalletti, Napoli won the championship last season after 33 years. The Italian coach, for his part, left Napoli stating that he would take a year off from his profession to be able to rest. Spalletti, who was chosen as the best coach of the 2022-2023 season by Serie A, was finally among the 3 UEFA finalists in the same category along with Pep Guardiola and Simone Inzaghi.

Mancini, who also coached Galatasaray for a time, resigned as coach of the Italian national soccer team last weekend. (AA)
