Neymar is also moving to Saudi Arabia.

Next big move to Saudi Arabia. Neymar is moving from Paris Saint-Germain to Al Hilal on a high-paying contract – for an estimated annual salary of 100 million euros.

A few months ago, Al-Hilal wanted to mix everything up with a really big spatula. Those in charge of the Saudi Arabian champions wanted to hire Lionel Messi – and according to media reports, they seemed to agree with the Argentine superstar. But it is known that Messi decided otherwise. He opted to move to Florida for Inter Miami despite a two-year, €500 million contract offered by the Saudis.

So instead of Messi Neymar. The Brazilian is leaving Paris Saint-Germain after six years in which he likely won five leagues and three cups but missed out on the big goal of winning the Champions League that the Qatari club owners so passionately demanded.

Annual salary 100 million euros

The club initially did not give information about the duration of the contract. However, according to media reports, Neymar received a two-year contract. The Brazilian could make his debut for his new club in Saturday’s match against Al Fayi. According to the Saudi-funded news channel Al-Arabija, PSG will receive a €90m transfer fee, with Neymar’s annual income even higher at €100m.

Under the contract, Neymar would have been tied to the capital club for two more seasons. But the Brazilian, who came to France from Barcelona for a record transfer fee of 222 million euros, apparently no longer played a role in the reasoning of the new coach Luis Enrique.

No more interest in Europe

The latest unexpected development will make Neymar forget that Al-Hilal is not currently at the top of his list of possible new employers. The British portal The Independent wants to know that he and his advisers tried to continue their careers in European clubs.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea were named as destinations. However, neither in Germany, nor in Spain, nor in England were they ready to pay a high transfer fee and a royal salary for a star forward.

Only Barcelona reportedly showed interest. It is said that the Catalans’ plan to bring back Neymar was based on a loan deal. However, in the case of Al-Hilal, such a proposal would have been nipped in the bud from the start.
