Completed the 15th stage of the Tour de France

Dutchman Wout Poels of the Bahrain-Victorious team took part in the 15th stage of the 110th Tour de France between the ski resorts Les Gets Les Portes du Soleil and Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc and took first place in seconds.

On the stage, Belgian Wout van Aert from the Jumbo-Visma team came second and Frenchman Mathieu Burgaudeau from the TotalEnergies team came third.

A passerby following the ride on the road caused an accident involving about 20 cyclists while taking pictures.

In the general classification, Dane Jonas Vingegaard of defending champion Jumbo-Visma kept the yellow jersey by maintaining his lead with a total time of 62 hours 34 minutes 17 seconds. The 2020 and 2021 champion, Slovenian Tadej Pogacar of the UAE Emirates team, came second in the overall standings, 10 seconds off the lead.

After the interruption of tomorrow’s event, it will continue on Tuesday, July 18, with the 22.4-kilometre stage between Passy and Combloux.

The tour will end in Paris, the capital of France, on Sunday, July 23, with the completion of 21 stages. (AA)
