Caroline Wozniacki is back
The former number 1 in the women’s world ranking, Caroline Wozniacki, has announced that she will return to tennis, which she left in 2020.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, Wozniacki said she plans to return to court at the Canadian Open in August, and then wants to participate in the US Open, the last Grand Slam tournament of the season.
The Danish tennis player, who will turn 33 on July 11, said in a statement on his Twitter account: “In the 3 years that I was away from tennis, I spent time with my family. I have 2 children whom I am grateful to be their mother. But I still have goals that I want to achieve. I want to show my children that you can follow your dreams no matter how old you are. As a family, we decided it was time. I’m going back and I can’t wait to play.” He used his statements.
Wozniacki, who won his only Grand Slam title at the 2018 Australian Open, played in the finals of the 2009 and 2014 US Opens.
Wozniacki won 30 singles titles in her active career, which ended after the 2020 Australian Open, and topped the women’s world rankings for 71 weeks. (AA)
