FC St. Gallen starts the new season with a home game

The Swiss Football League has determined the matches and match times of the first eleven rounds of the new Super League season. St. Gallen starts with a home game against Basel.

In the first phase, the Swiss Football League determined matches for the first 22 matchdays and the first eleven rounds of the Super League. The new season – with a new mode – starts on July 22. And this is with the game of FC St. Gallen.

Here’s how the mode works

In the first 33 rounds, the clubs meet three times. In the last five rounds of the championship, the table is split in half and the clubs ranked 1st to 6th and 7th to 12th meet again. This gives each club a total of 38 rounds.

Points, goals and statistics from the preliminary round count towards the final round. The winner of the top half of the table is the champion of Switzerland, the rest of the clubs compete for starting places in European competition.

In the bottom half, the club drops directly to 12th, 11th competing against 2nd in the Challenge League.
