Janicek made 23 appearances last season, playing for Bayern Munich’s second team. The young talent has extended his contract with the German record holders until 2025 and will be loaned to Espen for the upcoming season, FC St. Gallen said in a statement.
Athletic director Alain Sutter is pleased with the newcomer: “Justin is considered a great talent. We are happy to welcome him and that he can continue to develop in the FCSG at his young age.” Janicek receives the number 5 jersey for FC St. Gallen in 1879.
Before his time at Bayern, the tall defender (1.92 meters) came through the youth department of VfB Stuttgart.
