Fulham defender Issa Diop arrested for alleged threats to his ex-wife
Fulham defender Issa Diop has been arrested in France for allegedly threatening to kill his ex-wife.
The 26-year-old defender is currently in police custody in Toulouse, according to regional news outlet La Depeche du Midi.
According to the news, Diop was captured at the Pullman Hotel in Toulouse around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night. French media reported that Diop and his 29-year-old partner are currently in the process of divorcing, which has sparked intense discussions between the couple.
Diop’s ex-partner allegedly demanded large sums of money, which the soccer star refused to pay.
As the relationship deteriorated, Diop reportedly threatened to kill his wife with the words “I’ll get rid of you for sure.” Complaints were filed against Diop last week, according to La Depeche du Midi.
