Croatia, first finalist of the UEFA Nations League

In the 2023 UEFA Nations League, whose normal period ended in a 2-2 draw, Croatia defeated the Netherlands 4-2 on extra-time goals and advanced to the final.

In the first semi-final of the tournament, the Netherlands and Croatia met at the Feyenoord ‘De Kuip’ stadium in Rotterdam. The Netherlands closed out the first half of the match, led by Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs, leading 1-0 with Donyell Malen shaking the net in the 34th minute.

Playing more aggressively in the second half, Croatia took the 2-1 lead with goals from Andrej Kramaric from a penalty in the 55th minute and Mario Pasalic in the 72nd minute. Netherlands relentless, 90+6. Noa Lang aired the nets in the second minute, making it 2-2 on the scoreboard and the game went into extra time.

Taking control again in this part of the game, Croatia defeated their opponent 4-2 with goals from Bruno Petkovic in the 98th minute and Luka Modric from the penalty spot in the 116th minute and made their mark in the final.

The other semifinal match of the tournament will be played today between Spain and Italy at 21:45 CEST. (AA)
