Shooting at championship celebrations in Denver
After the Denver Nuggets, one of the American Basketball League (NBA) teams, won the first NBA championship in its history, 11 people were injured in armed attacks that took place in the city where fans came out to the streets.
According to updated statements made on the Denver Police Department’s Twitter account, during the celebrations there were armed attacks at various points in the city.
As a result of the first armed attack in the 2000 block of Market Street, 9 people were injured, 3 of whom are in critical condition. The suspect who carried out the attack was also among the injured.
It was claimed that as a result of two separate armed attacks in the same region and on 16th Street, two more people were hospitalized and sufficient information about their state of health could not yet be obtained.
Police officers also stressed that the attacks were complex in nature and that an investigation into the incidents has been launched. (AA)
