Eden Hazard prepares to say goodbye to football

Belgian striker Eden Hazard plans to retire from football at the age of 32, ending his £400,000-a-week contract with Real Madrid early.

The 32-year-old ended his career at Real Madrid a year before his contract expired, after a poor season at the Santiago Bernabéu. After the 2022 World Cup, Hazard ended his career with the Belgium national team and began to seriously consider retirement.

According to reports from Spain, the former Chelsea star wants to stay in the capital and live with his family in Madrid. This leaves a difficult decision in front of him. The statement on the Real Madrid club website read: “Real Madrid CF and Eden Hazard have agreed that the player will leave the club as of June 30, 2023. Eden Hazard has been part of our club and has won 8 titles. throughout four seasons: 1 European Cup, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups. Real Madrid wants to express its love for Eden Hazard and wish him and all his family the best of luck in this new stage”.
