Stuttgart secure league place – HSV remains in Bundesliga 2

Stuttgart win the Barrage second leg 3-1 and remain in the 1st Bundesliga. Hamburg with Swiss defender Miro Müheim will have to wait to get back into the German top flight.

Sonny Kittel’s goal in the 6th minute gave the 50,000 fans at the Hamburg stadium some hope that they could make a difference after a 3-0 defeat in the first leg. A little later, when the guests, who allegedly equalized the score, were abandoned due to a previous offside, this was also noted as a goal.

But in the second half Enzo Millo from Stuttgart put an end to the dreams of the Hanseatic League. The 20-year-old football player first scored from close range, then took advantage of the goalkeeper’s mistake. Silas’ third goal came in stoppage time.

While Stuttgart averted their third relegation since 2016, Hamburg, who have been in second place since 2018, failed for the second time in a row. Last year they lost to Hertha Berlin with a total score of 1:2.
