They part ways with Paolo Maldini in Milan

Milan, one of the teams in Italy’s First Soccer League (Serie A), reported that as of yesterday Paolo Maldini’s administrative director’s work at the club ended.

In a written statement from the red and black club, it was indicated that Paolo Maldini’s term at the club ended on June 5, 2023. The statement thanked Maldini for his contribution to Milan’s return to the UEFA Champions League and especially to winning the title of Serie A in the 2021-2022 season.

It was reported that Maldini’s responsibilities will be transferred to a team that will work closely with the A-team coach.

“DIVISION HAS BEEN OFFICIAL”

The Italian press has been stating that for some time there was a disagreement between Maldini and the club’s owner, Gerry Cardinale. While Cardinale was reported to be dissatisfied with the team’s performance this season, it was written that Maldini wanted significant reinforcements for the upcoming season, thus the departure became inevitable.

The press also announced the latest statement from Milan with the headline “The divorce has been made official”.

It was noted that Ricky Massara, who is the sporting director alongside Maldini, is also close to parting ways. (AA)
