Champion PSG lost to Clermont in the last match of Ligue 1

In the last week of the French First Soccer League (Ligue 1), champion Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) lost 3-2 to Clermont on the pitch.

The 2022-2023 season in Ligue 1 was completed with the matches of week 38.

PSG, who announced their championship the week before, took a 2-0 lead against Clermont, hosted at the Parc des Princes, with goals from Sergio Ramos in the 16th minute and Kylian Mbappé from the penalty spot in the 21st minute.

On the other hand, the fans and the players of the home team supported PSG’s Spanish goalkeeper, Sergio Rico, who was seriously injured after falling from a horse and was in intensive care throughout the game. The fans of the capital team showed their support for Rico with cheers and banners. The name of the Spanish goalkeeper also appeared on the shirts of the PSG players who came out to warm up wearing shirts with Rico’s photo. French star Kylian Mbappé dedicated his goal to his teammate by opening Rico’s number 16 shirt. (AA)
