Alcaraz and Tsitsipas turn without a set at Roland Garros

Last year’s US Open champion Alcaraz of Spain faced Canadian Denis Shapovalov (26th seed) in the men’s singles third round match. Alcaraz won the match, which lasted two hours and 10 minutes, 3-0 with sets of 6-1, 6-4 and 6-2, and equaled the Italian Lorenzo Musetti (17) on the 4th day.
The Greek racket Tsitsipas (5) followed his path by beating the Argentine Diego Schwartzman 3-0 with sets that ended 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3.
The number 94 in the world, the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas, gave one of the surprises of the day by beating the Polish Hubert Hurkacz (13) 3-2 (3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2).
In women’s singles, Czech Karolina Muchova defeated Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu 2-0 in sets 6-3, 6-2.
