In total, 2.37 million spectators came to the stadiums of ten Super League clubs in the 2022/23 season. This is more than ever before. Only for the sixth time has the Swiss top league broken the magical barrier of two million spectators.
On average, 13,172 spectators watched the games on the court. The Young Boys again captured the public’s attention, hosting 29,097 Wankdorf fans per game, an increase of 4,300 from the previous year. Since the 2018/19 season, they have not only overtaken Basel in terms of sports, but are also the undisputed number 1 in the league in terms of spectators.
Although they had to put up with a slight decline (also due to the fact that the Muttenzer curve was blocked against YB and the away sector), Basel is clearly in second place. Being the only team along with YB, they could host over 20,000 spectators per game. from 21 742 .
Eventually, St. Gallen (17,575), Zurich (15,387) and Lucerne (12,775) passed the 10,000 mark. At the bottom of the spectator table is Lugano, who finished the season in 3rd place. Only 3353 spectators wanted to see the games in Cornaredo.
