Manchester City striker Haaland made Premier League history
Manchester City’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland was named the best player of the 2022-23 season in the English Premier League.
According to the statement on the Premier League website, Haaland won the award as a result of the vote, which was attended by the captains and football commentators of 20 league teams, as well as fans.
In addition, the 22-year-old Haaland, who was selected as the Premier League’s young player of the year, made history as the first person to win two awards in the same season.
Haaland, who has a great participation in Manchester City’s third consecutive championship, played 35 games in the Premier League, where he played for the first time, and broadcast the networks 36 times.
With this performance, Haaland broke the record for most goals scored in a Premier League season shared by Andy Cole (1993-94) and Alan Shearer (1994-95) with 34 goals. (AA)
