Cristiano Ronaldo: The Saudi Arabian league will be one of the top five leagues in the world
Cristiano Ronaldo believes that the Saudi Arabian Professional League he joined this season could eventually become one of the top five leagues in the world.
The Portuguese captain joined Al Nassr in January and signed a contract worth more than 200 million euros ($220.16 million). Ronaldo played for Real Madrid in La Liga, Manchester United in the Premier League, and Juventus in Serie A.
The 38-year-old footballer said that the quality of the Saudi Arabian league has improved in a short time:
“We are much better and the Saudi league is improving every day. Next year will be even better. I think this league will gradually become one of the five best leagues in the world, but for that they need time, players and infrastructure”.
“IT WILL BE GREAT”
“But I think this country has incredible potential, it has incredible people, and the league is going to be great in my opinion.”
Earlier this month, Riyadh club Al Hilal reportedly made an official offer to the Argentine footballer to sign Ronaldo’s arch-rival Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo, wearing an Al-Nassr jersey, scored a spectacular winner in their 3-2 win over Al Shabab and stopped Al-Ittihad from claiming the Saudi Professional League title.
