Olympiakos, first finalist in Euroleague

The Greek representative Olympiakos and the French team Monaco met in the first game of the Euroleague Final Four held at the Zalgirio Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania. Olympiakos won the match 76-62 and became the first team to reach the final.

In the Greek representation, Sasha Vezenkov played with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, Kostas Papanikolaou 15 points and 8 rebounds. In Monaco, Mike James finished with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, Elie Okobo 17 points, 1 rebound and 5 assists.

Starting the game well and leading the first quarter 20-14, Monaco went into the locker room with a 41-29 lead. Starting the second half with aggressive defense, Olympiakos took the 43-41 lead on a 14-0 run. Giving their opponent only two points in this quarter, the Greek team took a 56-43 lead in the fourth quarter. Dominating the game against his opponent, who again reduced the difference to single digits in the last quarter, Olympiakos won the hall 76-62 and got the final ticket.

Olimpiakos will face the winner of Barcelona-Real Madrid in the final to be played on Sunday, May 21.
